Foods to save your life!

Did you know most of the diseases we suffer today are directly linked to our diet? The truth is that if take a long hard look at the classic standbys of our Western diet, it should not surprise us. Kebabs, burgers, fries, pizzas and ice cream have something in common: sugar, fat and other ingredients that are highly toxic to our bodies. And while these “foods” are high in calories, they lack nutrients. The body ends up being malnourished on one hand, and in turn, has an overdose of toxic elements, which upset our natural balance.

However, if your diet can make you sick, the encouraging news is that you too can use it to heal. Here we briefly introduce some dietary advice that can help heal many ailments.

-Legumes, particularly soybeans, are an excellent source of dopamine, which can increase your sexual appetite, plus they contain a healthy dose of fibre and vegetable protein. Another tip is to lower your fat intake, to increase the production of testosterone, and better control your libido. So less Big Macs and kebabs, guys!

- If you suffer from very abrupt mood swings and the blues tend to drown your spirit, make sure you’re not doing more to feed these depressive states. A disproportionate intake of sugars and white flour can affect your mood level. Try a week without the cookies and beer and you’ll see how you feel better.

- You’re not a teenager and you’re still suffering from acne? You may be eating too much sugar and too many dairy products. Fruits and vegetables, especially the orange-yellow ones like carrots and squash (which are high in beta carotene) will help you get glowing skin.

- Always have apples at home as they say an apple a day keeps the doctor away. It’s a kind of superhero food, good for diarrhoea, and also for fever, asthma, arthritis, colds, cancer and arthritis.
