FIMFA is a fun festival that will be touring throughout the world with exhibitions and workshops to share the experience of the masters of the art of puppetry. This is a spectacle full of colour with storytelling with a perfect atmosphere for the whole family and a chance to experience the real Lisbon.
On May 7th FIMFA Lisbon will hold its international puppet festival and will bring puppets from all around the world to the Portuguese city. Professional firms from various countries who are renowned internationally will come to the Portuguese capital to tell their stories. In addition to the various functions, people can attend meetings, presentations and workshops related to the world of puppets.
Puppets are usually dolls made of wood, cloth or other material that appear on stage (with imaginary sets) and move around it. The puppeteers say that this show is one of the most beautiful and amazing in the world. They move the strings of the puppets and tell the story as the puppeteer is the soul of the puppet that gives life to the story.
In Lisbon, we find the famous Puppet theatre, which organizes live entertainment. There are workshops for children, labs for repairing the puppets and birthday parties for children up to 12 years old. These are just some of the initiatives put forward in order to explore the techniques behind the design and creation of different types of puppets.
This event is very original and funny. FIMFA presents a new type of theatre that proposes many stories in a different way, but no less charming and beautiful. The world of puppets is not only made for children, but for all those who love the theatre.
